Becoming A CEO
A Road of Trials

While founding a company is challenging, becoming its CEO is a whole different journey. You enter a world of swift decisions, operational management, and vision-casting—all while juggling personal life and staying fit enough to maintain your energy. For many new founders, this transformation feels overwhelming as they struggle to envision themselves as effective CEOs.
However, the journey need not be as intimidating. In my own experience, I discovered several paths and resources that helped pave the way. Here are some key solutions that can guide you toward mastering the CEO role:
Pre-Accelerators: These programs provide the foundational skills and knowledge needed for startup success. They help in strategizing and scaling business models.
Technical Bootcamps: Equip yourself with the necessary skills to steer your company in a technology-driven world by immersing yourself in bootcamps that focus on coding, product management, or data analytics.
Regular Gym Visits: Physical fitness translates to mental well-being. Regular exercise keeps your energy levels high and improves your cognitive abilities.
Building a Professional Network: Connect with like-minded individuals to share experiences, gain advice, and form potential partnerships. Platforms like LinkedIn and frequent networking events are invaluable.
Finding a Mentor: Seek guidance from someone who has walked the path before. A mentor can provide insights and advice that books and courses might miss.
Online Business Courses: Enroll in courses like those offered by Coursera or Harvard Online to gain additional skills in leadership and management. Explore more here.
Two years ago, my co-founder and I were simply two people brimming with ideas. We began our journey by attending Black Tech Saturdays, enrolling in the Apple Developer Academy, and applying to programs like ProsperUS and Techstars. With each new opportunity came the need to elevate our skills.
Though I may not yet fully embrace the CEO title, I'm steadily progressing toward that role. Through this journey, I've gained deep insights into what successful company leadership reqauires—and learned that maintaining a strong self-care routine is essential for sustaining the energy this position demands.
