Mamba Mentality in Business
"You're only a success at the moment you perform a successful act. These acts have to be repeated all the time”
-Phil Jackson
I believe in the power of relentless pursuit, once as an athlete, and now as a founder. When I think about Kobe Bryant's famous words, "Job's not finished," I'm reminded of how his “Mamba Mentality” has taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and maintaining an unwavering drive towards excellence, regardless of temporary success.
Looking back at my journey post-Techstars, I find Kobe's words deeply personal. While completing the accelerator program was a triumph for me, I know it's just the beginning. Just as Kobe wouldn't rest until he achieved championship success, I'm determined to push beyond merely completing our MVP. My goal is to propel FreeWriter into the hands of users and stakeholders through strategic sales and marketing efforts.
I've adopted this Mamba Mentality in my approach to raising $400k in grants and angel investment. I refuse to settle for less, and I won't let challenges deter me. Instead, I'm aggressively pursuing every opportunity, from pitch competitions to investor meetings, channeling the same tenacity and dedication that Kobe showed on the court.
My journey isn't just about raising funds; it's about creating a sustainable business model. While I understand that revenue is the lifeblood of any business, my vision extends beyond the bottom line. Through refining the user experience and crafting a platform that induces a writing flow state, I aim to make a meaningful impact on those who struggle with focus issues—a common barrier in writing. My commitment to solving this problem remains unwavering, and it's this commitment that drives me forward.
By embracing the Mamba Mentality, I'm not just working harder; I'm working smarter, adapting and innovating to ensure my story is heard and my goals are met. Kobe's legacy of relentless pursuit inspires me to continue striving, knowing that though the path may be challenging, the job is indeed not finished.
